On Monday 2nd November, our Year 6 prefects visited Heywood Sports Village to begin their training as Wellbeing Ambassadors.
Throughout the day, the children learned about the important role they will play in promoting positive wellbeing across our school community. Wellbeing Ambassadors are pupils who act as an extra pair of eyes and ears, helping staff to identify and support children who may be feeling sad, lonely, worried or in need of additional emotional support.
The training was delivered by professionals from the Educational Psychology Team, Local Authority services, the School Nursing Team and Your Trust. Through a range of activities and discussions, our prefects developed a better understanding of mental wellbeing and how they can help others in a safe and responsible way.
As Wellbeing Ambassadors, the pupils will help to promote kindness, inclusion and positive mental health throughout the school. They will be encouraged to share any concerns with designated staff members and will work closely with adults to ensure all children feel happy, supported and valued.
We are incredibly proud of our prefects for taking on this important responsibility and look forward to seeing the positive impact they will have across Greenbank Primary School. Their dedication to supporting others reflects our school values and commitment to ensuring that every child feels safe, respected and cared for.
