Safeguarding Statement

The Governing Body and staff of Greenbank Primary School take seriously our responsibilities to safeguard our pupils. We will provide an ethos and environment that will encourage children to talk openly enabling them to feel confident that they are being listened to. We aim to provide an environment within our school that ensures children feel safe, secure and respected at all times.

Visitors to Greenbank should be aware that the Designated Safeguarding Leads at Greenbank are:

Sandra Hartley - Headteacher

Lisa Walsh - Deputy Headteacher

Yvonne Matthew - Welfare Officer

Hayley Birds - Family Worker

We have a number of policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment, including our Child Protection Policy which can be found on our Website.

What Do I Do if I am Worried About a Child?

If you become concerned about something you have seen in school or something a child says to you

You must inform the Designated Safeguarding Lead who will take appropriate action. Operation Encompass

As part of Greenbank Primary School commitment to keeping children safe, we are proud to be part of Operation Encompass.

Operation Encompass is a unique Police and education early intervention safeguarding partnership which supports children and young people exposed to domestic abuse.

Being part of Encompass means our school will receive a notification from Greater Manchester Police before the start of the next school day when a child or young person has been involved in or exposed to a domestic abuse incident the previous day. The information is given in confidence to the schools Key Adult and will enable us to provide the best possible support for the child.

The Key Adults at our school are:

Sandra Hartley - Headteacher

Lisa Walsh - Deputy Headteacher

Yvonne Matthew - Pastoral Manager

Hayley Birds - Family Worker

If you have any questions or wish to know more about our involvement in Operation Encompass, please do not hesitate to contact any of the above staff in school.
