PE and Sport Premium Funding 2025–2026
At Greenbank Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that all pupils have access to high-quality physical education, sport and physical activity opportunities. During the 2025–2026 academic year, the school received £19,450 in PE and Sport Premium funding. This funding was used to enhance pupils' experiences, develop skills and improve participation in sport and physical activity.
How the Funding Was Used
Funding was used to support:
- Sports equipment and resources for lessons and activities.
- Entry into external sporting competitions.
- Specialist sports coaching.
- Additional swimming provision and aquatic opportunities.
- Support to improve access to PE and sport for pupils with SEND.
Impact on Pupils
The funding has helped pupils take part in a wider range of sporting opportunities and has had a positive impact on swimming and water safety outcomes. We continue to invest in opportunities that encourage healthy lifestyles, teamwork, confidence and enjoyment of physical activity.
Swimming and Water Safety
For our current Year 6 cohort:
- 32% can swim competently, confidently and proficiently over 25 metres.
- 48% can use a range of swimming strokes effectively.
- 35% can perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations.
To further support pupils' development in this area, £9,020 was invested in additional swimming lessons and aquatic opportunities during the academic year.
Looking Ahead
As we plan for 2026–2027, we will continue to develop high-quality PE and sport provision through staff development, specialist coaching, improved resources and enhanced swimming opportunities, ensuring that every child can enjoy and benefit from being physically active.
